Hand sawing is used for cutting depths of up to 150mm thick in walls and floors. Our equipment boasts the latest in design and technology for efficiency and ease in operation. These hand saws provide the convenience of cutting floors in areas that are inaccessible for a road saw, and a faster, more effiecient way of cutting shallower depths in walls than the wall saw.
Crosscut SawThe crosscut saw has teeth that is specially designed to cut horizontally through wood. The size of these teeth can range from about 8 to 12 inches, with the length the saw ranging from 21 to 27 inches. The teeth of the crosscut saw cuts wood at a right angle toward the direction of the wood grain. Rip Cut Saw Another type of hand saw is the rip cut saw. The top of the teeth usually does the cutting, which is typically used for cutting with the grain of the wood. The blades are pitched between 85 to 90 degrees. This type of saw is specially designed to make what is called a "rip cut." Cutting is achieved by pushing through the wood. The typical length of this type of saw is 23 to 27 inches, and the teeth length is between 5 1/2 to 7 inches. Panel SawPanel saws are portable saws. These small saws are used to cut thin pieces of wood such as, plywood and melamine sheets. They have teeth measuring between 8 to 12 inches, and the saw length is 17 to 23 inches. There are two categories of panel saws—horizontal and vertical. |
